Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration guidelines.
Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
Prohibitions
Eridanus Optics will not link to any website that exhibits hate, bias, or discrimination. Furthermore, Eridanus Optics reserves the right to deny or remove any link that contains misleading information or unsubstantiated claims, or is determined to be in conflict with Eridanus Optics mission or policies.
Accuracy of information
Nothing contained on this website should be construed as professional advice from Eridanus Optics CC. The information is intended to serve as guideline or general background.
Eridanus Optics CC shall not be liable for any loss or damage of whatever nature, arising out of or in connection with the contents of the information on this website and/or any conduct taken in reliance on the content of this information.
Although Eridanus Optics CC attempted to ensure that the information, including product prices, on this website is accurate and correct, we cannot guarantee this. We therefore reserve the right to refuse sales at incorrect prices.

Prices
Care has been taken to ensure that the prices quoted on the website are correct. Errors may however still occur and Eridanus Optics CC reserves the right to change prices without notice.
If it transpires that a price is incorrect after an invoice is issued and/or payment received, Eridanus Optics CC will communicate the error and endeavour to resolve the issue to the customer’s satisfaction. If no agreement can be reached, Eridanus Optics CC reserves the right to cancel the transaction and will make a full refund.
Delivery
The following methods of delivery are available:
●   Walk in: – Please pre-arrange a date and time for collection. You can also arrange collection by you own courier service. No additional costs are involved.
●   Postal services: – Mail orders will be sent via the Post Office Insured parcel mail service. Counter to counter services will be used. Fully paid orders received by Friday 16:00 will typically be processed and posted on Saturday.  If you have a specific requirement to have the order mailed sooner, send an SMS to 083 632 4894.  We will try to accommodate you.
●   Courier: – This service is currently not supported by the website, but can be arranged.  This is a door to door delivery service. This is normally an overnight service. No deliveries over weekends. Allow one extra day for packaging and checking.  To arrange, send a Whatsapp to 083 632 4894 for a quote.
Payment Methods
The following payment methods are available:
●   Bank deposit: – Cash payments can be made. Please email deposit slip.
●   Cash: – For store pick-up customers.
●   Credit card: – For store pick-up customers and online.
●   Internet transfer: – E-mail proof of payment to 086 636 2283 or SMS to 083 632 4894.

●   Cash on Delivery (COD): – Store pick-up customers only, orders less than R1 000.00, Pre-order items excluded
Return Policy:
Our return policy works as follows:
In the unlikely event that we supplied a defective product we will exchange it free of charge.  If we are unable to make a direct exchange, then:
●   We will recommend a similar product to the customer.
●   The customer may choose a product (or products) to the value of the defective product.
●   We will make a full refund of the purchase price to the customer if we cannot reach an acceptable arrangement.
If the customer wants to return a product without a defect then we will charge:
●   A handling fee of 10% of the purchase price with a minimum of R100.
●   For any damage caused to the product or its packaging by the customer.
Note:  The shipping and insurance charges are not refundable.
If the product was damaged during delivery, the customer must:
●   Notify the delivery company (Post Office, UPS, etc) upon receipt of any visible damage to the packaging.
●   Evaluate the product and notify us of any damage within a reasonable time.
●   Return the damaged product.
A suitable agreement will be reached with the customer.
Stock Availability
Care has been taken to ensure that the stock levels on the website are correct. Errors may however still occur and Eridanus Optics CC reserves the right to delay delivery due to stock unavailability.
If it transpires that no stock is available after an invoice is issued and/or payment received, Eridanus Optics CC will communicate this to the customer and endeavour to resolve the issue to the customer’s satisfaction. If no agreement can be reached, Eridanus Optics CC reserves the right to cancel the transaction and will make a full refund.
Governing Law
This site is hosted, controlled and operated from the Republic of South Africa and therefore governed by South African law.
Out of Stock on Locally Supplied Products
We do not carry the physical stock of this product and when we last checked there was also no stock at the official importer. Upon receipt of an order we will inquire about the expected availability date. We will also reserve your ordered product to ensure availability when it arrives. The initial price indicated is based on the last known price received from the importer and may change due to currency variation when new stock arrives.
When stock arrives, the updated price will be communicated. At this stage you may cancel the order without obligation. If you want to proceed, we will confirm the order with the importer only upon receipt of the full purchase price (unless agreed on otherwise).
Delivery to our office is typically 2 to 4 working days if the stock is available at our suppliers.
Out of stock or Pre-order of International Goods
Pre-order: International If we do not have physical stock of the required product and will order it upon receipt of a % deposit, based on the required product as set out below. An updated quote may be requested beforehand – see next bullet.
Initial pricing is based on the following:
R8.30/$ mid-market exchange rate (Spot Price: R8.50/$) with 40% (unless indicated otherwise) shipping fee Excluding local delivery. (Exchange rate fluctuations apply)
Final price will be based on the actual costs and exchange rate applicable.
The remainder is payable before collection/delivery to the customer.
Garret Optical: 2 to 4 weeks typical delivery to our offices. 20% deposit; 40% shipping
Baader Planetarium: Up to 3 months typical delivery to our offices. (We order about 3 times per year) 10% deposit; 15% shipping
GSO/OPT: Stock is ordered from time to time as needed. Delivery is typical from a few weeks up to 6 months to our offices. 10% deposit; 20% shipping
Televue: Up to 6 months typical delivery to our offices. 10% initial deposit; rest of 80% when order placed
William Optics: 2 to 3 weeks typical delivery to our offices with 10% initial order on small items (More expensive items up to 6 months and 80% deposit); rest of 80% when order placed.
Astronomik: up to 6 months typical delivery to our offices. 20% deposit
Lundt: 2 to 4 months typical delivery to our offices. 80% deposit
QSI: 2 to 4 months typical delivery to our offices. 80% deposit
Astrodon: 2 to 4 weeks typical delivery to our offices (depending on order size). 80% deposit; 10% on small orders; remainder of 80% when order placed
Shelyak: 2 to 4 weeks typical delivery to our offices. 80% deposit.
